We usually hear stories about love bombing that include last minute trips to Paris, unexpected gifts, nice restaurants dinners, chocolates, and flowers. This is the overt narcissist way.
The covert narcissist style is very different. It can feel like you are connecting with a very attentive person. Someone who is making you feel heard. In fact, you are. However the purpose of the attention is only to gather information about you. It's not out of genuine interest and intimacy. The goal for the covert narcissist is clear. Get data, it will be useful later on.
